TI has the good fortune to host three Geshes from Sera Jey monastery South India whilst they are in Melbourne in the coming week.
White Tara Puja @ 10–12 noon
During Sera Jey Geshes visit and as recommended by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and with deep devotion and heartfelt aspiration, the Geshes will lead a White Tara Puja to pray for the long life, continued good health, and flourishing activities of our most cherished teacher, Venerable Geshe Doga. This puja has been personally recommended by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as a powerful and beneficial practice to support Geshe Doga’s life and enlightened activities.
Hayagriva Puja @ 1:00pm – 2.30pm
Upon suggestion by Geshe Doga, there will be Hayagriva puja conducted by about 12 Geshes (including 3 Sera Jey Geshes) for the Long and Healthy Life of TI’s most Venerable Geshe Doga, and at the same time to pacify, purify any negativities or defilements .
Hayagriva is a wrathful aspect of the Buddha of Compassion Chenrezig with a close connection to the Dalai Lamas. It has a particular emphasis on controlling—bringing together all those conditions needed for successful practice—and dispelling obstacles.
In Sera Jey monastery Hayagriva retreat is conducted annually and is considered as a protector of Sera Jey monastery.
