TI SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

1pm on Saturday 5th April 2025 at Landcox Hall

Dear Members of Tara Institute,

I am writing on behalf of TI's Executive Committee to invite you to attend a Special General Meeting (SGM) at 1pm on Saturday 5th April 2025 at Landcox Hall.

We have two agenda items to discuss:

  1. Proposed Rule Changes - To progress our application for DGR (tax deductible) status, we are proposing changes to the section of our Centre's Rules that relate to a Building Fund. As you will see in the draft below, the proposed changes are limited to the definition and constitution of a Building Fund that is established to raise and administer funds related to the construction, maintenance and upkeep of our buildings. These changes are based closely on the Rules adopted by our friends at Atisha Centre, who have recently completed a successful application for DGR status for their own Building Fund. These proposed changes will need to be passed by a Special Resolution at our SGM.

  2. Discuss future building plans - We'll also take the opportunity to discuss and solicit community input on future plans for the building and facilities.

Please click below to see:

Please do feel free to reach out with any questions you might have before the meeting. We look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday April 5th.

With warm regards,

Sahil Shekhar
President, on behalf of the Tara Institute Executive Committee
