This lovely old building that is Tara Institute depends heavily on volunteers to keep it functioning.  Our greatest need at present is for volunteers to help us keep the Centre as clean as possible; this is an ongoing need and if you have an hour or two to spare once a week or once a month and you don't mind putting some energy into cleaning, please contact the Office on 9596 8900 to see what cleaning task is currently most pressing.

At Tara Institute we also have volunteers who help in the following areas:

Dharma Burning: Tara Institute accumulates quite a lot of written Dharma material that needs to be burnt as per the instructions of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, in a clean fireplace and with mantras.  There are a few people who take a bag or Dharma burning home with them from time to time to do this at their leisure; if you feel you can help please call the Office on 9596 8900.

Dharma Cutting - Again, as per the instructions of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, all Dharma material must first have images of Lamas and Buddhas cut out before burning.  These images are to be kept in a clean, high place.  So we are in need of volunteers to do the cutting out of images for us.  Please call the Office on 9596 8900 if you feel you could take some Dharma material home and do the cutting out at your leisure.  You could then bring the images back to Tara Institute and the Dharma burning material.

Pujas - the Spiritual Program Coordinator often needs people to help with setting up Pujas; please contact Ani Rigsal on 9596 7410 if you would like to help her

Gompa Maintenance - volunteers help vacuum the gompa, dust and keep it clean; if you would like to help in this area contact Ani Rigsal on 9596 7410.

Gardeners - we always need people to do some weeding in the garden

Publishing/Newsletter - we have a small team of people who fold the newsletters ready for postage; if you have time once a month to help with this, please contact the Office on 9596 8900.

Children’s Dharma Club - if you feel you can help, contact the Office on 9596 8900

Transcripts - the Publishing Group has a coordinator and people help transcribe teachings; please contact the Office is you have skills in this area.

Laundry - occasionally we need people to volunteer to do some laundry for us; if you feel you could offer to do this please contact the Office on 9596 8900.
