A Dharma Will for all

It gives us great pleasure to tell you that we have created a template for a Dharma Will which you can use as the basis for your own Dharma Will.  This Dharma Will is based on Lama Zopa Rinpoche's advice on prayers and practices that he recommends before, during and after death.  This advice can be found on Rinpoche’s advice page on the FPMT website and in the FPMT book "Heart Practices for Death and Dying" -all materials have been used with permission. http://www.amitabhahospice.org/public/spiritual_support/Dharma_Will.php

We give the information in a very organised way and we have included where it can be found in the book, or at the FPMT store, or in some cases instantly downloaded.

We have also created a pdf file which can be printed out as a Dharma Will with all the suggestions, which can be checked off by the dying person (remember we are all dying!) according to their preferences. We have also added spaces where people can add their personal requests. http://www.amitabhahospice.org/public/spiritual_support/Dharma_Will.pdf

I also want to suggest that you read the page  How to Talk about Death because it gives very important advice for those caring for close friends or family members who are facing death. It is based on my experience as a Palliative Registered Nurse http://www.amitabhahospice.org/public/helpful_info/talk_death.php

Also our page on the Signs of Dying and Suggested Cares gives details about what may happen as a person gets near death, during death and after death. http://www.amitabhahospice.org/public/helpful_info/signs_of_dying.php

We hope you will find this information very helpful.

Dharma Quote

"Spiritual practice is difficult in the beginning. You wonder how on earth you can ever do it. But as you get used to it, the practice gradually becomes easier. Do not be too stubborn or push yourself too hard. If you practice in accord with your individual capacity, little by little you will find more pleasure and joy in it. As you gain inner strength, your positive actions will gain in profundity and scope."

His Holiness the Dalai Lama
