Dharma Books

Have you got Dharma books on your shelves that you would like to share? If so, please consider donating to the Tara Institute library via Ani Rigsal’s office or the main office.  Please just call on 03 9596 8900 to make a time to drop off your books.  Because we don't want to have too many duplicates of books stored at Tara Institute, please let us decide whether we are able to take your offered books or not.  Thank you in anticipation.

P.S. You can always borrow them back!

Tara Institute Volunteering Opportunities

Tara Institute is always grateful for any time volunteers can spend helping out at the Centre. At the moment we are in need of volunteer gardeners, cleaners and handymen. If you feel you have an hour to spare every now and then (or even more!) it would be so much appreciated; just contact Llysse in the office on 9596 8900 to discuss. Thank you!

Dharma Quote

The point to be understood is that if we work for the welfare of others, then our own goals, our own wishes will be fulfilled naturally. When we think about it, the welfare of others is important because others are important. They are important because they help to fulfil our own wishes. A mundane example is that if we had a wish to become wealthy, then we have to rely on someone else who has wealth so that we can earn from them.  Whatever we wish for is all dependent on others; others who have the means or qualities that can fulfil our wishes. There is no way to gain anything for ourselves without relying on others.
